Ah to be Young Again

Greetings Me Droogs N Droogettes!
Light poasting this weekend.  We got the Granbebe here.  Picked her up and man, I forgot just how cool some things are in the world when yer 3 1/2 years old.  One of the things we do when we do the p/u drop off with Other ‘Rents, we go throught he car wash.
Which she thinks is purely the shit

Pure, innocent, unadulterated joy at something as silly as a car wash
Now, bearing in mind she’s normally in the back, strapped into a really good car seat, but for the special trip through the Car Wash, she gets to ride in front on Gee-Gee’s lap.

She giggles and laughs her ass off through the entire thing, calling out the colors and stuff as it cascades over the windows…

Truly… the small things that remind us that not everything has to be doom and gloom all the time

As well as a solid reminder of what we’re all fighting to protect
So she doesn’t grow up in an Orwellian Nightmare.

Sometimes I forget these things…

And sometimes, I wish I could go back to those carefree days, and I get to at least vicariously, for the 5 minutes we run through the car wash, I laugh a little myself, both at the situation, and the giggles of a truly beautiful lil girl.

We should all strive to have lil moments like that

Fuck you if you can't take a joke. No one gets out alive so eat me.

  1. Beautiful! You sir, are a lucky man. I have three, all of different ages and they all make my day when I’m with them.

  2. Just like the phrase from John Connor of GunCrank Diaries: “For Life, Liberty, and Little Lizzy”.

Wonderful little girl. That’s my biggest regret. Not having my own. Someone worth fighting for. You’re a lucky guy.

  3. Jealous as hell. I hope this weekend with the lil’un makes your last one a distant memory.

  4. Wish I was that bright eyed and bushy tailed, as a kid: A tragedy, growing up too fast.
Tell both of ’em to enjoy these moments and savor life’s simple pleasures; it’s no fun growing old.
